Painted

I LOVE a good statement necklace. A piece you can throw on and it makes an outfit.  So when I saw this shift with its own amazing and oversized painted jewel bib it was a must purchase! Without actually wearing a big necklace it allows for a stack of bangles or a pair of fun earrings.

Boy meets Girl

Menswear staples made for women are continuing to show up season after season.  Oxford shoes and crisp button downs are some of my favorite takeaways from this trend.  To me making menswear feminine is truly a classic look.

Emmy Excellence

I thoroughly enjoy watching award shows.  Like many others my favorite part is actually the red carpet pre-show.  It is fun to see who wears what and to then pick favorites!  Overall I would have to say I was a little disappointed in this year's fashion choices, but I did come up with my top 5 standouts.

#5 Zooey Deschanel in Reem Acra

#4 Emily VanCamp in J. Mendel

#3 Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier

#2 January Jones in Zac Posen

#1 Cat Deeley in Tadashi Shoji

Casual and Color-blocked

I am definitely a fan of the color block trend.  Decided to jump on the bandwagon with this month's Stylemint tee.  Oversized tees with cute details are great to pair with skinny jeans for an easy casual Friday look.

Silky Stripes

After living in SF for a year, I have learned a few key wardrobe lessons in order to survive the year round 50-60 degree weather.
Lesson 1: Always have layers!  A light jacket, a good scarf, or a cozy cardigan usually do the trick.
Lesson 2: Boots work year round and tights are NOT necessary.

Shoulder Statement

Early Fall weddings are beautiful, but can pose a bit of a dilemma when it comes to appropriate attire.  I found my answer in a navy three quarter sleeve short silk dress.  The cut and color are perfect for Fall, while not too hot in the lingering Summer weather.  The intricately embellished shoulders add a perfect amount of fun!

An evening in Aspen

A good pair of booties are a must have item this Fall.  I prefer a style that is both feminine and practical.  When I invest in a pair of shoes I want to make sure I can dress them up and down.  Here I pair my booties with a cocktail dress and blazer for an evening in Aspen. They would go just as well with denim and a slouchy tee. The best part is they look cute AND keep your feet warm in the crisp Fall weather!

A trip to wine country...

One of the great attributes of the bay area is warm weather and wine country are only a short drive away!  Anytime I leave the city in the summertime I make sure to throw on a pair of sandals and a sundress.
