Happy Halloween

I am not big on Halloween costumes.  I usually don't even think about costume ideas until a few days before, and I always try to find the majority of the costume in my closet.  This year I decided to go as Waldo, with a girly twist of course!  Since the only thing I had with red and white stripes was a dress, I improvised and paired with bright blue tights.  Happy Halloween!

Fall Favorites

There are a few clothing items that feel made for Fall.  One, is a good pair of corduroys.  I personally prefer fine whale corduroy.  It looks and feels almost like velvet and can be dressed up or down.  Two, is a muted or sophisticated floral.  I love a good floral print, but many can feel too summery.  Jacquards or rich tones add a different elegance to floral prints.  Perfect to take from Fall into the Holiday season!

Accessory Edition : Boots with Woven Details

Fall is officially here!  Pumpkins are everywhere, whether they are being carved and placed on your front door step, baked into your favorite pie, or flavored in your Starbucks latte.  Halloween Candy is already haunting us.  Thanksgiving plans are being made. Daylight savings is around the corner.  And...it is due time to pull out your favorite boots!  New boot trends are everywhere this Fall.  What am I digging most?  Leather boots with woven inset details...obsessed!

California Girl

I have been embracing my "Cali" infused style lately.  There are definitely moments when I miss the fashion culture that is NYC.  But, I am beginning to appreciate the laid back care free style that runs the show in SF.  Since weather is similar year round and some of our hottest days are in October, seasonal clothing restrictions never really apply.  I do laugh when I see shorts out in November or heavy down jackets in July.  At the same time, I am inspired by the lack of restraint.  When I think about "Cali" style, I think boho glam, bright colors, and beach bum beauty.

Style Icon: Emma Stone

After starting this blog, I have been thinking more about who my personal style icons are.  As a result, I came up with a list of celebrities I think always get it right.  Whether on the red carpet or running away from paparazzi they exude a certain sense of style.  My first and perhaps favorite is Emma Stone.  She has a style that is classically chic with a twist of fun.  She definitely takes risks but all her looks come together with an elegant undertone...

Dressed up Denim

Chambray button down shirts are one of my work week staples.  They go well with any blazer and can be paired with skirts and heels or pants and flats.  I use them as a good neutral base to be able to layer on different colors and textures.

Lace Lady

Lace details make any outfit more soft and feminine.  A pretty lace blouse with denim and jewels create a good day to night ensemble.

Mix and Match

There are many thoughts on the best way to pair patterns.  My thought... A pretty printed pencil skirt mixed with a simple stripe is a perfect match!

Going Green

Colored denim has been in high demand for a few seasons.  Colored cords are back in full force this Fall.  So, why not bring the fun to office attire?  These green trousers are a perfect way to brighten up the work week!
