L is For ...

I am definitely digging all of the cute Letterman inspired sweaters and jackets that are out this Fall and Holiday seasons.  I am also a fan of mixing sporty with feminine.  It would be easy to match a sweater and cargos with sneakers or flats.  Instead, why not finish off the outfit with a fun pair of heels?  It's a great way to add an unexpected girly twist!

City Sparkle

During the past couple of months Gilt City has been hosting Gilt warehouse sales across the country.  I was lucky enough to be invited to the Friends & Family opening event of the San Francisco sale.  I mean, who can say no to cupcakes, champagne, and amazing discounts?  Definitely not me!  I walked away with two new dresses at incredible prices.  This Alexia Admor allover sequin shift is sparkly perfection for the Holiday season.  What I like most about this dress, is the color palette makes it a true year round party piece!

Layers & Legwarmers

Fall is all about layering.  Sweater jackets are great for crisp cool days when a coat is a little too much.  They can also be layered under heavier jackets for really cold days.  I like to be able to wear dresses and skirts year round.  To stay warm I layer with thick tights or occasionally legwarmers.  Yes, legwarmers!  Maybe it is all those years of dance rubbing off, but they are comfy, cozy, and cute!

Rainy Weekend

When it's raining out, it is almost impossible to get dressed and motivated.  Leggings and an over-sized shirt might be all you can muster up for a rainy Saturday.  But, who says you can't make that work? Especially if activities for the day don't extend much beyond a mid morning coffee outing and an afternoon trip to the gym!

Black and Neon

A touch of neon is always fun to add to an outfit.  My personal opinion is a little goes a long way.  I prefer neon pops in prints or stripes.  It is easier to balance these out with more muted colors.  I decided to pair a neon printed dress with black for an evening out.

Take Two

It has been cozy sweater weather lately, even in SF.  A common misconception is cozy sweaters are only meant to lounge around in.  Oversized sweaters are easy to pair with leggings and boots for a casual Saturday brunch.  Pairing the same sweater with a cute mini skirt and heels for a dinner date works too!

Fashion Fundamental : LBD

A good Little Black Dress is a true wardrobe essential.  Every woman should have one in her closet.  Some shoppers prefer to invest in a quality piece they can wear for any occasion.  If this is the case, I suggest choosing a classic option that can be worn day to night and be dressed up or down.  On the other hand, there are shoppers who prefer to mix it up and find multiple dresses for varying occasions.  In this post, I highlight different types of LBDs and when or where they might be considered perfection!

Preppy in Poppy

Sometimes shoes can inspire an outfit.  I love these ballet flats because, they feel like a statement accessory with their bold color and gold chain straps.  Today they inspired a preppy feminine look, complete with cashmere and ruffle details.

Playing it Cool

Something I will always take with me from my days at J. Crew (besides most of my wardrobe), is the idea that a little bit of whimsy can make an outfit.  I love this sweater, it is so fun! Perfect for a Friday!
