Layered in Pops of Pink

Now that I am a local SF gal, I have become pretty creative with my layering style.  Eighty percent of the year the weather is the same.  It ranges between 50 and 70 degrees, usually all in one day.  Because of this swinging pendulum it is essential to be well layered. Recently, I have been throwing on a hat to stay a little warmer without needing a heavy jacket.  I have also been experimenting with lipstick in the past few months.  I used to never stray very far from lightly tinted lip gloss.  These days I have been trying out different reds, peaches, and pinks.  To spice up an otherwise laid back and cozy outfit, I put on a hot pink hat and hot pink lipstick!

Academy Award Fashion A-List

The designer ensembles that paraded down the red carpet on Oscar night did not disappoint.  There were a lot of allover embellished gowns, which has been a trend throughout the award season.  Many leading ladies looked stunning, but of course there were a few standouts.  I also loved that some of Hollywood's most sincere couples walked the carpet hand in hand and looked even more gorgeous together.  Here is a round up of my favorite looks.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck both in Gucci

Sandra Bullock in Ellie Saab

Adele in Jenny Packham

Jessica Chastain in Giorgio Armani

Sally Field in Valentino

Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Rachel Roy and Channing Tatum in Gucci

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta

Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

Peplum + Pleats

Pleated maxi skirts are everywhere.  I found this midi high low version on sale and couldn't resist.  I always like to add textures to an outfit.  I paired this white pleated skirt with a cute black peplum top for a simple yet dressy outfit.  These days you can't go wrong with black and white.  It is trendy and easy to accessorize!

Sun Filled Saturday

Spring came early this weekend.  As of Friday it has been warm and sunny.  The last few days provided a much needed break from the abnormally cold January.  I threw on a tee and maxi skirt to bask in the lovely weather and enjoy a laid back weekend!

Swinging Stripes

Over the weekend we headed out to the Inner Richmond to explore Clement street.  We spent the afternoon strolling around and checking out some cool shops and a coffee spot. We ended the outing trying a new restaurant for an early dinner.  To take me from the afternoon activities to a casual dinner out,  I threw on a striped swing dress, sparkly necklace, and fun booties.

Print on Print

I love feminine floral prints and patterns.  And, I might sound like a broken record, but I also like to invest in outfits you can wear all year long.  Like this matching blouse and short set from Rebecca Taylor (found at an amazing price on Gilt).  It works great with tights and boots in the winter, but I also plan on wearing it as is with cute sandals in the warmer months.  I can wear these pieces together or mix and match with other separates, the options are endless!

Coffee Casual

One of my favorite weekend activities is exploring our neighborhood to discover great boutiques and restaurants.  This weekend we decided to take a Saturday morning stroll over to Baker and Banker cafe.  We went for the Four Barrel coffee and well reviewed baked goods.  Just FYI, their blueberry cream cheese muffin is delicious!  I like to keep it casual over the weekend.  Baggy boyfriend jeans, ballet flats, and layered jewels are my standard staples.
