Washed Out

Denim is not something I buy often.  Usually I have a couple of pairs of jeans that are my go to, and I wear them over and over again for years.  I wear them until I have literally worn through them and am forced to replace them.  I recently wore through my favorite pair of skinny jeans that I have had for at least six years.  Naturally I have been shopping around for a replacement, but have been holding out on making the investment until I find the perfect pair.  In the meantime, I have found some really cute jeans for really affordable prices.  I found these fun dip-dye detail skinny jeans at Gap, and scored them on sale for $15! I love the fade away look and the super casual vibe.  Maybe not an every day obsession, but fun for an every once in a while change of pace.

Well Suited

In addition to doing a little bit of January post holiday sale shopping, I have also been reinventing old favorite pieces.  In preparation to do a much needed early spring cleaning,  I have been searching through the mess that is my closet.  I found one of my old favorite blazers I bought during my J.Crew days, when boyfriend blazers were all the rage.  I wore it all of the time, to the office, out in NYC,  you name it.  It is safe to say I haven't pulled it out of my closet in about a year.  The fit is a little large now, and in SF I find myself wearing blazers less and less.  I decided to take it out for a spin and wear it belted as a shirt instead.  Turned out to be a fun twist on the classic suit get up.  I paired it with new cute booties I recently scored on super sale, and a bold pink lip!

Tomorrow Tomorrow

I love weekends!  I think I get so excited when Friday rolls around, because I feel a sense of adventure for the days to come.  That is what weekends are to me, the opportunity for mini adventures.  Whether it's taking a long weekend trip somewhere new, or driving up to wine country for a day or two, or staying in the city and having what I like to call an urban adventure. Sometimes it is fun to set out on a Saturday, and just explore a new neighborhood or wander from one favorite spot to another.  My new favorite accessory for a solo adventure are my Frends headphones.  I love them almost as much as I love the weekend!  They are the perfect size, and the rose gold details make them a true fashion accessory.

I hope everyone has a happy and adventurous long weekend!

Cold Front

Let's be honest, it has been really cold this past month. Although, I know I can't really complain since San Francisco's weather doesn't even compare to how cold it has been in other parts of the country. When it is consistently cold outside, I really can't be bothered to wear anything but cozy sweaters and comfy pants. This is when I take advantage of little things to pull together an otherwise very casual outfit. I have been sticking to my favorite sweaters and denim, but adding heels and smart coats. I also have no problem wearing heels over socks. I mean, if the shoe fits!
I hope everyone has been surviving the extra cold weather, and is having a great start to the new year! San Francisco temperatures are warming up this week, and I am definitely looking forward to some beautiful and sunny California days!

Golden Gals

I have to say, the first red carpet of this year's awards season did not disappoint.  A whole lot of gorgeous dresses graced the carpet at the Golden Globes.  Honestly there were so many I loved, it was hard to pick favorites and narrow it down.  To force myself to stop writing down almost every dress I decided to stick with a top ten.  There were a few color trends I liked seeing this year.  A lot of rich winter appropriate colors like red, green, and some black done really right.  I was happy to see some new faces who were surprisingly stunning, and to see some veterans take on the roll of classically chic.  All in all it was a great night for fashion.  I can't help but be even more excited for the rest of the awards season and the red carpets to come!
