Summer Floral

With the official first day of summer last weekend, I have been inspired by season appropriate prints and colors.  What better way to celebrate summer than paring a simple nautical stripe with a bright and pretty floral print?!  I was recently in Anthropologie for the first time in a while.  Normally I walk straight to the sale rack, but this time I found myself perusing the entire store.  I was struck by all of the shades of color and fresh prints.  I wound up finding this skirt on the sale rack (of course), and simply couldn't resist.  Wearing it feels like literally walking through a garden!

Carmel Cool

For my last installment of black and white mixing and matching, I went for a causal coastal look. I paired the Alice and Olivia pants, with a black tee and sandals.  It was the perfect outfit for a day of driving along the coast and exploring the beautifully quaint town of Carmel by the Sea.

Easy Breezy

For day two of my mix and match moments, I went for a similar black and white scheme, but a very different look.  I threw on my favorite boyfriend jeans with the same Alice and Olivia blouse.  This time, I kept it untucked and casual.  Simple black flats and a black clutch, completed my easy throw on and go outfit!  Towards the end of the week with the weekend in sight, I start eyeing my baggiest boyfriend jeans.  Without fail, by Thursday evening I am always ready for laid-back and casual comfort.

Birds of Paradise

I have always been a sucker for a good print.  I am usually drawn to patterns that feel a little out of the ordinary.  Recently I was shopping with my mom and we found this amazing black and white print hidden in the sale rack at Alice and Olivia.  The Hawaiian in me, loves the tropical pattern.  The fashionista in me, loves the unexpected color palette of all black and white.  I think I literally tried on everything available in this pattern, but landed on a short sleeve blouse and pants.  Of course I had to get both!  Let's be honest, they are a mix and match dream!

Throughout this week I will be showing how I have been wearing these pieces.  Mostly, inspired by a black and white head to toe look.   First up, I wore them together for a dinner date night with my husband during a weekend getaway in Carmel.
