Statue Worthy

This year's Oscar Red Carpet was in a word, interesting.  I had high hopes for the evening's fashion.  Some lovely ladies exceeded those expectations, while some were unfortunately a little bit disappointing.  Alas,  there were still so many beautiful looks to pick from.  In addition to my top ten favorites,  I also included some of the cutest couples. There were so many well dressed duos that walked the carpet so I had to add a few to my round up!

Manhattan Love Story

We recently had a whirlwind weekend in NYC.  We headed back east for three full days of visiting our old stomping grounds and spending time with friends.  It was so wonderful to be back in the city to see some of my favorite people and visit some of my favorite places.  Since we decided to visit in the middle of winter, it was less about making fashion statements and more of a bundling game.  I made sure to bring a warm coat, hats, scarves, and managed to borrow a cozy pair of cashmere gloves!  A good coat can really help keep winter wear stylish.  Even with all of the layers, this pink faux fur trimmed coat kept me feeling warm and chic!

Talking Black

For a Saturday evening dinner date, I decided to go for an all black look.  It wasn't entirely intentional.  I put on my black DVF romper that I would normally pair with a pop of color, but instead I layered on a black leather jacket and black flats.  I don't know what it is about winter months, but I tend to wear more neutral colors and a lot of black.   Sometimes monochromatic ensembles just keep everything simple and easy, which can be a good thing!
