SAG Award Standouts

I realize this red carpet round up is coming a day late.  I was traveling this weekend but made sure to re-cap my favorites from the red carpet as soon as I returned.  I haven't even been able to watch the show yet, but did get enough tidbits to know that the adorable Jacob Tremblay stole the show...again.  I couldn't help but add him to my round up and if you don't know who or what I am talking about see HereHere and Here!
Since I haven't watched the full red carpet special or the show, I haven't quite wrapped my head around any overwhelming trends.  There were quite a few ladies looking beautiful in blue, many of them making my top ten!  Otherwise it seemed like a diverse array of dresses, colors, and details.  Not one overwhelming trend but a few different ones, like florals, allover sequins, slim column dresses, and unexpected trims (I am looking at you Brie Larson)!

So here it goes, better late than never, my SAG standouts...

Naomi Watts in Burberry

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton

Kiernen Shipka in Erdem

Tina Fey in Prabal Gurung

Saoirse Ronan in Michael Kors

Claire Danes in Stella McCartney

Helen Mirren in Jenny Packham

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab

Rosé Please

I love a good graphic tee or tank. These days there are a ton of brands making cute clothing with fun sentiments. One of my favorites is Daydreamer Clothing, they have a lot of cuteness to choose from. Being a Rosé lover myself, when I saw this tank I had to have it. The best thing about a great tee, is that it can be dressed up or way down. I have worn this tank everywhere from on the beach over a bathing suit,  to in the city with pants, heels, and a blazer. Somehow it always works, and adds a fun twist to any outfit!

Tank: Daydreamer- similar Here and Here
Pants: Joie- Mariner Pants
Blazer: Madewell- similar Here
Shoes: J. Crew- similar Here and love These with fringe!

They're Golden

Another year, another Golden Globes red carpet Sunday!  Now that I have been doing these red carpet top picks for a few years, my friends have started to text me during the day in anticipation.  They know I am watching  and picking my favorites, so they make sure to share their thoughts or ask for mine.  I love receiving their comments, and knowing watching the red carpet is just as fun and exciting for them as it is for me!  One was taken by all of the capes that floated down the carpet. Another was proud of her correct prediction of white being a big color of the night.  Another simply asked me which dress was my favorite.  Presumably as someone who watches this show every year and comes up with a list of top picks, determining a favorite would be easy.  But, not this year.  There were many beautiful dresses worn by stunning women, but I couldn't name just one top pick.  Some years there is that perfect combination of dress and actress, and they are with out a doubt the standout of the night.  This year I dare say I didn't have a favorite.  With that being said, it was very difficult to keep my top picks to 10.  I could have easily listed a top 15.  But, I took the challenge and picked my top 10, which if I am being honest are my favorites for the combination of the dress and the actress who wore it.

Brie Larson in Calvin Klein

Rachel McAdams in Lanvin

Joanne Froggatt in Reem Acra

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Atelier Versace

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

Taylor Schilling in Thakoon

Jenna Dewan Tatum in Zuhair Murad Couture

A Morning in Palm Springs

This year we decided to road trip down to Arizona for the holidays.  In planning our open road adventure, it seemed like an obvious choice to stop in Palm Springs as our halfway point.  If you follow me on Instagram you probably already saw that we stayed at The Saguaro hotel.  It's bright colors and retro atmosphere made for a fun and relaxed environment.  Once we arrived and checked in, we didn't have to travel far for some solid margarita's and tacos.  We had a great casual dinner and drinks at El Jefe in the hotel's lobby.  Before we headed out to continue our road trip to Tucson the next day, we headed over to the Parker Palm Springs for a delicious brunch at Norma's.  The food was really good and the people watching was even better!
